Trace Barry Municipal Releases

To find someone released from a Barry County municipal hold, identify the arresting police agency, the place of booking, and the court case as separate facts. The official-source sweep found no independently operated, public-facing municipal jail in Barry County. A city officer may arrest a person who is then booked at the Barry County Detention Center, where the Sheriff’s release feed and inmate file become the custody records. The Barry County municipal release search therefore follows the county booking first and the municipal or circuit docket second. It does not assume a city-owned jail or invent a separate facility contact.

Where Barry County Municipal Releases Go

No official source established a separately operated, public-facing municipal jail in Barry County. Municipal police may arrest a person, but the booking and custody may occur at the Barry County Detention Center. A Sheriff profile can list the arresting agency and a municipal-style case number while the Sheriff remains the custodian.

A person held on a municipal matter may return to the community, move under a court order, or remain on another county, state, or federal hold. The police agency, custodian, and court can therefore be three different offices. The release trail begins with the office that actually booked and released the person, not with an assumed city jail.

No separate city jail was verified. Do not infer a municipal facility from an arresting-agency name on the county profile.

Confirm Barry County Municipal Release

Use a routing sequence that separates the physical custody event from the underlying ticket or case. The county booking number is the strongest link to the jail record.

  1. Check the Barry County Sheriff’s 48 Hour Release page for the exact name and release time.
  2. Open the profile and record the booking number, arresting agency, charge text, and any court case number.
  3. Call Barry County Jail at 417-847-3461 and ask whether it held the person and whether the exit was community release or transfer.
  4. Use the case number in Missouri Case.net and narrow the court or county when needed.
  5. Contact the arresting municipal police agency only for its own arrest or incident record.
  6. Contact the proper clerk for the legal disposition, payment, warrant, or docket record.

The Barry County Detention Center page explains the Sheriff inmate-file request when the booking occurred there.

Which Barry Municipal Record Answers?

Sending one broad request to every office is less useful than identifying the record owner. The local research supports a clear division of responsibilities.

QuestionLikely record sourceKey identifier
Was the person booked and when did the booking end?Barry County JailBooking number and release time
Which police agency made the arrest?Sheriff profile and arresting agencyAgency name and incident number
What did the judge order?Case.net and the proper clerkCourt case number
Why did the person leave the jail?Jail inmate file and release entryBooking number
Was there a transfer or another hold?Jail transfer entry and receiving custodianRelease date and destination

The arresting agency does not necessarily control the release record. A court disposition also does not establish the minute that administrative release occurred. Pair the jail timestamp with the court order.

Barry County Municipal Hold Records Contact

Because no separate municipal jail was verified, the contact card must route to the documented county custody and court offices rather than invent a city-facility address.

Custody and Court Routing

Barry County Jail inmate records: 417-847-3461
Sheriff published location: 94 Barry County Drive, P.O. Box 459, Cassville, MO 65625
Sheriff general line: 417-847-6556
Barry County Circuit Clerk: 417-847-3133
Clerk email: Barry.County.Judicial.Center@courts.mo.gov
Clerk hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Circuit Clerk lists criminal operations at 102 West Street, Suite 1, Cassville. Its published copy descriptions are inconsistent, so call for a quote before sending payment. Jail inmate-file fees and turnaround are not published. The Sheriff’s stated incident-report price and timing must not be applied automatically to inmate records.

Barry Municipal Cases in Court Records

Barry County’s clerk routing includes municipal tickets for Butterfield, Cassville, Exeter, Purdy, and Washburn. A case number in the Sheriff charge line can connect the brief booking to a more durable docket. Search by that number when possible; a name search is more prone to mismatch.

Read the actual docket entry, judgment, and disposition. Charges are allegations, not convictions. A “disposed” label does not state when a person physically left the detention center, and a jail release does not prove dismissal. If a municipal matter is not visible in the expected search, ask the clerk which court maintains it rather than assuming the booking never occurred.

Note: The jail records custody, while the court record explains the legal case and its outcome.

Brief Holds and Barry County Book-and-Bond Records

The Sheriff FAQ describes “book and bond,” a short process in which a person resolving a warrant may be fingerprinted and photographed and may pay an available bond. A very brief stay can therefore create a booking profile, image, booking number, and release timestamp.

A bond figure on the profile is not proof that bond was paid or caused the release. Ask Jail staff for the public release type and authority, then read the court order. A municipal-style charge or agency name still does not establish that a separate municipal jail housed the person.

Can Another Hold Follow Barry Release?

A municipal case can coexist with a county warrant, state hold, federal matter, probation issue, or immigration detainer. If the county booking closes because another custodian receives the person, the Sheriff release timestamp marks a transfer rather than community release.

An ICE detainer can request notification and up to 48 additional hours so DHS may assume custody. No Barry County ICE contract facility was established, so this is only a person-specific route when the inmate file identifies the detainer or transfer. Use MODOC, BOP, ICE, or another county system only after the destination is confirmed.

Barry Municipal Hold Records After 48 Hours

The Sheriff’s online release view lasts 48 hours, but the retained record lasts longer. Missouri’s schedule sets a five-year-after-release minimum for inmate files and five-year minimums for booking and arrest records and jail activity logs. A focused request can seek admission and release entries, release type, authority, transfer destination, and public booking material.

The court docket may remain available after the web release row disappears, subject to sealing, expungement, and other lawful limits. A missing web row or court result is not proof that no event occurred. Use the booking number and case number to ask each custodian for the record it owns.

Barry Jail Move and Municipal Releases

The county says the Sheriff and jail offices are moving, the Sheriff says a new facility is underway, and older FAQ material keeps another East Street location. The current published address is 94 Barry County Drive, but callers should confirm it before a record visit, property inquiry, or pickup.

No official routine release door, waiting point, transportation plan, weekend process, or property-return hours were found. The transition does not establish a new municipal jail. Current Jail staff should answer custody logistics, while the relevant clerk or police agency should answer only its own record questions.

Requesting a Barry County Municipal Release Record

A narrow request begins with the custodian of the booking. Give Barry County Jail the full name and aliases, booking number, approximate booking date, and approximate release date. Ask for the booking sheet, admission and release entries, public release type or authority, and transfer destination if recorded. When protected material appears in the same file, request the segregable public portions rather than demanding every jail document.

For the legal side, use the case number to ask the proper clerk for the judgment, disposition, bond order, or other named document. The Barry County Circuit Clerk’s copy page has conflicting published fee language, so obtain a current quote. Missouri’s public-record procedure requires a response as soon as possible and generally by the end of the third business day, but that deadline is for action on the request, not guaranteed final production.

The municipal arresting agency may own an incident or arrest record separate from the Jail inmate file. Request that record from the named agency only after the Sheriff profile confirms the arresting agency. A city police report cannot substitute for the county admission and release entries when the county operated the custody.

Keep the request purpose-neutral and fact-specific. Ask for dates, identifiers, authority, destination, and disposition. Do not ask a records custodian to draw legal conclusions from a bond amount, a hold label, or a missing web result. If offices disagree about custody, provide each office the booking and case numbers and ask it to identify the record owner.

When an online row has already expired, state that the request concerns a retained booking record rather than a current roster entry. The five-year minimum for the Sheriff inmate file and related logs explains why the county may still hold the source. A missing public page is only the end of the display window, not the end of the official record trail.
